Robert Armstrong

Obituary of Robert E. Armstrong

Robert (Bob) E. Armstrong sadly passed away on December 28th peacefully in his home. Born 1931 in Jersey City to Granford and Elizabeth Armstrong. He was one of 8 siblings. He had a passion for many things; travel, sports, tools, food, and garage sales to name a few. The thing he most admired and protected was his family. After finishing his service in the Air Force, he met Rita at Rockaway Beach and immediately knew he would make her his wife. They soon got married and had five children: Anne, Margaret, Bobby, Barbara and Brian. Bob proved to be the most loving and caring father in the world. He always made time for his children and maintained an amazing relationship with them throughout their adulthood. Bob always wanted what was best for his children. He worked very hard to support and provide a foundation for all their successes today. He taught them to love God and each other, no matter what. He was a kindhearted father and wonderful husband. His wife and children will miss him dearly.

“Dad, we will never forget you because you are woven into a part of our souls. Although we miss you, you are in a place much better than here. I just hope God is ready to laugh as hard as you always made us laugh.”

Bob is survived by his wife, children, their spouses, his ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. A funeral mass will be held for Robert at 10:30AM on January 12th at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 2348 Collier Pkwy, Land O' Lakes. A brief reception will follow at the church. Interment of ashes will be at 2:30 PM at the Florida National Cemetery 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513. Anyone is welcome to pay their respects.
