Obituary of Gloria Sue Kirk

Gloria Sue Kirk, 79, of Lutz, Florida, passed away on December 11, 2023, with her family gathered around her. Born on June 17, 1944, in Kinver, Kentucky. Sue was a caring and loving individual who was a friend to everyone who knew her.

Sue had a passion for cooking and baking, and she found joy in preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. She always brought family and friends together, and she cherished the times spent in the kitchen creating memorable dishes with them.

In addition to her love of having gatherings, she loved spending time outside gardening. Sue cherished her time with her loved ones. She is survived by her devoted husband of forty-five blissful years, Dave Kirk, her daughter Donalene Kirk-Vining, and her son Larry Kirk (Lisa). Sue was also a loving Mimi and Grandma to Ava, Brian, Brittany (Bobby), Tripp (Carianne), Michael, Maressa, and several great grandchildren.

Sue’s family was an integral part of her life, and she treasured the moments spent with them. She found immense joy in the presence of her husband, children, and grandchildren, and their bond brought her great happiness.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Tillie, her mother, Erline, her father, Manford, and her son, Mike. Although she experienced the loss of loved ones, Sue’s strength and resilience carried her through difficult times. She remained a pillar of support for her family, offering comfort and love during challenging moments.

Sue attended Detroit High School in Michigan. She moved to Tampa in 1960 and worked at several full-time jobs and at one time owned a restaurant in Zephyrhills. Sue was a life-member in the Marine Corps League.

Gloria Sue Kirk will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her caring nature, special talents, and love for her family will forever be remembered and cherished. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
