Obituary of Mary S. Benz

Our beloved mother, Mary S. Benz, sadly passed away on November 2, 2023 at the age of 94. 

She was predeceased by her husband Edwin of 66 years. Mary was the youngest of four daughters born to Croatian immigrant parents in Astoria, NY, grew up in Bronx, NY and graduated from Hunter College. 

Her education led her to a lifelong thirst for knowledge, love of reading, crossword puzzles, watching jeopardy, and many word puzzles. She loved singing with her sisters and her children. 

She became a mom in 1953, and raised her family on Long Island before eventually retiring to Florida. She was blessed with 5 daughters and sons-in-law, one son and daughter-in-law, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved and cherished.
